Abstract

The present conflict analysis is a product of the BMBF research project "NiddaMan - Development of a Sustainable Water Resource Management Using the Example of the Nidda Catchment Area". One aspect of the NiddaMan project dealt with the social demands on the Nidda catchment area and the analysis of associated conflicts. Under the direction of the ISOE - Institute for Social-Ecological Research in Frankfurt, interviews were conducted with local actors and a "stakeholder committee" was set up in which representatives of important stakeholder groups from nature conservation, leisure, agriculture and water management, planning and administration met for several workshops. Furthermore, experiences from other formats used in NiddaMan such as citizen information evenings and a participation platform were included. The conflict analysis is primarily aimed at employees of authorities involved in the planning and implementation of water management measures and scientists.
